How to Use
Discount Codes
Ticket Time!
In this section we attempt to answer your burning questions about how to use
Discount Codes. Maybe you have purchased a Season Ticket Flex Pass, or you have
received a Gift Certificate, or you are a teacher trying to figure out how to get your
free ticket. Here are the most common questions - scroll to your section:

1. How do I use my Season Ticket Flex Pass?
2. How do I use my Gift Certificate?
3. I have more than one code - what do I do?
4. I am a teacher and would like to get my free ticket.
5. I am a teacher and your online system is great but I want to go with a group of
teachers and it's too inconvenient for all of us to get tickets online and hope we are
all sitting together - what do we do?
6. I am a teacher and I want to go to the show with some friends but I don't know their
credit card numbers to purchase their tickets - what do I do?

1. How do I use my Season Ticket Flex Pass?

Start at the theatre web site and click "Buy Tickets". You'll be directed to an
information page you might want to give a once over. At some point click the "I'm
ready to buy tickets" to get to the ticketing page. You'll see a discount code box on
the right - enter the code you received in your email for your Season Ticket Flex
Pass. Click "Apply". A message will come up that mentions you have a Flex Pass
good for one ticket to every show. This may seem confusing if you purchased 2 or
more Flex Passes at one time - just go past it and select all the seats you want.

Select your show and performance. You can select more seats than you originally
purchased with your Flex Pass. The Flex Pass code will subtract the price of the
number of seats you purchased from the total.

When you are ready to check out you will go through the steps people usually go
through to buy - that includes logging in with your email address and password. Since
you have a Flex Pass you must already be in the system so enter the email address
you used (it's the email address you were sent your Flex Pass Code). Hopefully you
used a password you can remember - there is a button there you can use if you
forgot.

Next you will be presented with the address you entered previously when you
purchased your Flex Pass. Just click "Continue" unless you need to change
something.

Finally you will be presented with the credit card page - it should display the amount
you owe - which is probaby $0 if you are purchasing the exact number of tickets you
purchased at the time you bought your Flex Pass. If you purchased more you will see
the balance. If you forgot to enter your code in the beginning you can enter it here
and the amount will be recalculated. Or if you have additional Flex Pass codes
(student, senior, adult) or gift certificate codes - you can enter them here for
additional discounts.  Multiple codes can be entered one after the other if necessary.

If you have a balance due then enter your credit card info.

When you continue from this point you will go to a page that lets you print your
e-ticket. If you are not at a computer with a printer then don't worry - you have been
sent an email and you can print your ticket later at your convenience.

2. How do I use my Gift Certificate?

You can bring your Gift Certificate to any show and the box office will treat it as cash.
If you would like to use your GC to purchase tickets in advance then use our online
ticketing service. Start at the theatre web site and click "Buy Tickets". You'll be
directed to an information page you might want to give a once over. At some point
click the "I'm ready to buy tickets" to get to the ticketing page. You'll see a discount
code box on the right - enter the code printed on your Gift Certificate - or the code
you received in your email for your Gift Certificate. Click "Apply".

Select any show and performance.

When you are ready to check out you will go through the steps people usually go
through to buy - that includes logging in with your email address and password (if you
have used the system before) or providing your email address and password if you
are new to the system. The system needs your email address so it can email you your
"e-ticket".

Next it will ask your address because it thinks you will be using a credit card to
purchase - and it needs your address to validate your card. Unfortunately you will
have to enter this to keep moving through the process - but you will only have to do it
once - next time you use the system it will remember and you can just click
"Continue". Don't worry - our theatre booster club won't sell or abuse your personal
information.

Finally you will be presented with the credit card page - it should display the amount
you owe - which may be $0 if you are purchasing the exact dollar amount of tickets
that is listed on your Gift Certificate. If you purchased more then you will see the
balance. If you forgot to enter your code in the beginning you can enter it here and
the amount will be recalculated. Or if you have other codes - like additional Flex Pass
codes or gift certificate codes - you can enter them here for additional discounts.
Multiple codes can be entered one after the other if necessary.

If you have a balance due then enter your credit card info. If you do not use the entire
balance of your Gift Certificate then you can use your code again at a later date to
finish off the balance.

When you continue from this point you will go to a page that lets you print your
e-ticket. If you are not at a computer with a printer then don't worry - you have been
sent an email and you can print your ticket later at your convenience.

3. I have more than one code - what do I do?

Follow the directions listed above to enter at least one of your codes in the Discount
Code field on the theatre ticketing page. When you get to the end and have to pay
with a credit card there is another Discount Code field. Enter another code here. If
you have more codes then enter them in succession and your "balance due" will
become smaller and smaller.

4. I am a teacher and would like to get my free ticket.

Teachers get a free ticket to every show. When the show has "sectioned seating" -
meaning there's different prices depending on where the seat is - then teachers get a
free ticket to the mid-priced seats - or that dollar amount off the ticket price. There is
only one show this year with sectioned seating - the Spring Musical. For that show the
mid priced tickets are $10 and the "premium" seats are $12. So teachers can have a
free ticket with a mid-priced seat or a "premium" seat for $2.

Start at the theatre web site and click "Buy Tickets". You'll be directed to an
information page you might want to give a once over. At some point click the "I'm
ready to buy tickets" to get to the ticketing page. You'll see a discount code box on
the right - enter the teacher code. Click "Apply". Of course we can't print the teacher
code here - ask Cliff what it is or write the boxoffice@rhstheatre and they will let you
know. Select your show and performance. You can select more seats for others who
are coming with you - the system will give a single teacher discount off the total price
of all the tickets purchased. When you are ready to check out you will go through the
steps people usually go through to buy - that includes logging in with your email
address and password (if you have used the system before) or providing your email
address and password if you are new to the system. The system needs your email
address so it can email you your "e-ticket".

Next it will ask your address because it thinks you will be using a credit card to
purchase - and it needs your address to validate your card. Unfortunately even if you
are only getting a single free ticket for yourself you will have to enter this to keep
moving through the process - but you will only have to do it once - next time you use
the system it will remember and you can just click "Continue". And don't worry about
giving your address to the system - the Theatre booster club is the only group using
this system and they won't abuse you with emails and mailings.

Finally you will be presented with the credit card page - it should display the amount
you owe - which is $0 if you are purchasing 1 ticket. If you forgot to enter your code in
the beginning you can enter it here and the amount will be recalculated. The teacher
code cannot be used with other codes  - like gift certificate codes.  If you are
purchasing more than one ticket then it should subtract the price of one ticket from
the total. When you continue from this point you will go to a page that lets you print
your e-ticket. If you are not at a computer with a printer then don't worry - you have
been sent an email and you can print your ticket later at your convenience.

5. I am a teacher and your online system is great but I want to go with a
group of teachers and it's too inconvenient for all of us to get tickets online
and hope we are all sitting together - what do we do?

Designate someone to be the coordinator and have that person contact
boxoffice@rhstheatre.org. We will be happy to hold a block of seats for you. Please
have mercy on us because we are just a group of parents with day jobs who run this
operation. Give us a little lead time and have one person be the coordinator. It may
not come out too well if a bunch of different teachers are contacting us to be added to
the group.

6. I am a teacher and I want to go to the show with some friends but I don't
know their credit card numbers to purchase their tickets - what do I do?

Contact the box office (boxoffice@rhstheatre.org) and let them know your plans - the
show you want to attend and how many are teachers/how many are paying. We can
select your seats for you and you can pick up your tickets at the box office (Will Call if
it is a big show!). Those that plan to pay can pay cash at that time.
