Wheelchair Access/
Special Needs
We have two performance venues at Richardson High School and both are
wheel-chair accessible. Handicap parking spaces are located on the west side of the
auditorium and provide convenient wheelchair access into both of our venues.
Please see our
Parking/Venue map for a graphical view of where parking is and
where wheelchair access points are.
Black Box Reserved Seat
Seating Chart
<<<< Wheelchair access
All seats on the floor (first row) can
be considered wheelchair seats
because any of them can be
removed easily and a wheelchair
can take the spot. If you require a
quick exit then you should select a
seat on the floor near the
wheelchair access point. Keep in
mind that the actors continually
come and go and carry props -
sometimes large ones - through
this entryway throughout the
course of the show. If your equipment takes up space then we might want to
reserve two spots for you so that there will be enough clearance for the actors and
enough room for you to enjoy the show! Contact
boxoffice@rhstheatre.org if
you have any questions or require any special accomodations. Please plan ahead
and give us time to accomodate your needs - after all - we are a bunch of parents
who have day jobs! But we would love to have you attend our shows and will do our
best to see to it you have all you need.

<<<<<<<
At this time we are only reserving seats in the front portion of the Auditorium.
The back half of the Auditorium is General Admission seats. In this graphic it
appears that the wheelchair access is at the back of the theater but it is
actually at the mid point between the Reserved seating and the General
Admission seating. Wheelchairs enter into a very wide aisle that separates the
two sections.

If you will be using the Wheelchair access door then please contact
boxoffice@rhstheatre.org so we can plan for your arrival! We don't always
man that door and it is locked. If you have made a last minute decision to
attend our show (aren't last minute decisions the best?) then just send
someone to the box office and let the volunteers know you need to be let in the
side door. And it will be done!

At this time we do not have removable seats or removable arms on our theatre
seats. We do, however, have very wide aisles and wheelchairs can park
comfortably at the end of any aisle. If you are purchasing tickets online you will
see several green blocks on either side of the center section. These are
designated wheelchair locations. If these are not convenient for you or are not
located with your party then please contact
boxoffice@rhstheatre.org and
we will do our best to get you situated. But please plan ahead! We are
volunteers and need a little lead time!

Regarding those with limited mobility: Please do not attempt to use the
stairs that face Beltline if they make you uncomfortable. Contact
boxoffice@rhstheatre.org a couple of days ahead of time and we can plan
to let you in the side door! And remember to park on the Dogwood side of the
Auditorium -then you won't have to walk so far!

If you are organizing a senior event - often our seniors like to sit in the first row
of the General Admission section because there is a big aisle in front of them
and it is easy to get in and out of seats. If you would like to bring your Senior
group then be sure to contact
boxoffice@rhstheatre.org so we can hold
seats that will be comfortable for your group. And get you group pricing!
